What to expect during your initial visit at the Center for Cystic Fibrosis at USC University Hospital
Transition to a new CF Center can create anxiety and uncertainty for most patients. We understand how difficult this transition can be for you and your family. As your new CF Team, we will support you during your transition and provide you with the resources you need to minimize any gaps in your care.
The initial evaluation gives us an opportunity to get to know you and obtain your medical history. The CF Team is a multidisciplinary team, which means you will meet with the CF Doctor, Pharmacist, Nurse Coordinator, Dietitian, and Social Worker. The Nurse Coordinator and/or the Social Worker will provide you with an overview of the Adult program and educate you on the Center’s policy and procedures. Labs and spirometry will also be done during this visit. Your initial evaluation will approximately last 3 hours.
If you have any questions regarding your initial visit, please call (323) 442-8522.
