In the Epilepsy Program at USC University Hospital, our evaluation for patient treatment begins with an outpatient consultation. Once a course of treatment is decided upon, we employ a broad range of traditional medications for epilepsy treatment, including the latest drugs approved by the FDA.
As a highly respected academic medical institution, USC operates the General Clinical Research Center, one of the specially designated centers established by the National Institute of Health National Center for Research Resources to facilitate medical research. This allows the Epilepsy Program to offer patients access to new and exciting antiepileptic medications and other treatments through participation in clinical trials.
Patients who qualify for specific studies can participate free of charge and their travel expenses are compensated.
