Jonathan Spees serves as the hospitals’ chief financial officer. A newcomer to USC, Spees directs and oversees the management of the hospitals’ financial planning, analysis, reporting and operations. He will provide the strategic and operational direction necessary to achieve financial performance targets and increase profitability. He is responsible for directing the development and implementation of the hospitals’ annual operating budgets.
Prior to joining USC, Spees was a senior executive vice president of corporate development and finance and a founder of Merit Health Systems, LLC, a hospital management company. He has a successful track record in health care investment banking and corporate finance, including mergers and acquisitions, strategic planning, auditing and consulting. Spees is a certified public accountant and member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the California Hospital Financial Management Association and the Group Health Association of America.
