Volunteers

At USC, our volunteers are a precious resource.

Both USC University Hospital and USC Norris Cancer Hospital rely on a warm and devoted team of volunteers to work directly with patients and their families during their treatment and care. Volunteers work in many aspects of the hospital operations, from the gift shop to the information desk. They are the hospitals’ ambassadors to the community—no small task indeed.

If you are looking for professional experience or the opportunity to give back to your community, become a USC hospital volunteer. Volunteers must be 15 years or older and are asked to commit at least 75 hours per year, which comes to as little as 2 hours per week. Many of our volunteers commit about 4 hours per week, and our office staff is happy to work within your schedule.

Prospective volunteers are asked to complete a written application, as well as participate in a placement interview, orientation and health screening.

Your commitment of time can make a difference in the lives of our patients and their families. For more information, please contact the hospital’s Volunteer Services Offices:
